Other Resources Novel Approach to Teaching Psychopharmacology to Medical Students: The Psychopharmacology Curriculum. Psychopharmacology has become an integral part of the undergraduate medical curriculum, both during the basic sciences lecture series and the psychiatry clerkship. Teaching psychopharmacology requires some expertise, not always available in every department. To help with the possible lack of expertise and resources, the American Society of Clinical Psychopharmacology (ASCP) and ADMSEP created the Model Psychopharmacology Curriculum for Medical Student, which follows a similar curriculum for psychiatry residents (ASCP Model Psychopharmacology Curriculum). The lectures in this portable curriculum are available in a hard copy and in a Power Point version on CD. They were created and reviewed by experts in both psychopharmacology and medical student education. The curriculum is conceptualized as a continuously working teaching tool - users are encouraged to modify and personalize the lectures by adding, deleting, changing, reordering or combining slides from different modules.
