Dear ADMSEP Members:

The 24th annual ADMSEP Meeting will take place from Thursday, June 18 - Saturday, June 20 at the Westin La Paloma Resort in Tucson, Arizona.

The program will begin with a Leadership Institute for Educators in Psychiatry. The Institute will be jointly sponsored by ADMSEP and by the American College of Psychiatrists. Registration for this part of the meeting is limited to the first fifty registrants. In order to register for the Leadership Institute please mark the designated box on the ADMSEP meeting registration form. A description of the Thursday program for the Leadership Institute is enclosed in the packet. Please note that there is no additional charge required to register for the Leadership Institute.

The ADMSEP Meeting proper continues with the traditional Welcome Dinner on Thursday night. The program will include plenaries and workshops addressing areas of general and pressing concern such as hospital mergers, the impact of managed care, the interface with primary care, curricular innovations and novel teaching approaches. One panel discussion will take on the controversial use of simulations and actors in clinical teaching; a second panel will consider the optimum stance of psychiatric faculty and house staff when they are called upon to evaluate or to provide mental health services for medical students at their own school.

    DEADLINE: May 16, 1998
    Send Reservation card with payment to the hotel in the hotel envelope provided.NB: Because the hotel will hold ADMSEP responsible for hotel rooms that we donít fill, we have only reserved the exact number of rooms that were filled at the Annual Meeting last year. These rooms will be filled on a first come first serve basis. To be sure to secure a room at The Westin, it is important that you return your reservation card to the hotel ASAP.

  4. ACP/ADMSEP Psychiatric Leadership Institute Brochure

    No additional fee is required to register for the Leadership Institute, however in order to attend the Leadership Institute, you must register for the ADMSEP meeting. (In most cases, Psychiatric Leadership Institute participants will need to arrive at the hotel on Wednesday night. Extra rooms have been reserved for this purpose. As always, registrants are responsible for the cost of their own room).To register for the Leadership Institute mark the ADMSEP registration form in the designated box and send it to Dr. Freeman at the address listed above.

The sun is shining in Tucson. Always. Opportunities for hiking, horseback riding, desert hopping, pool sitting, waterfall ducking, tennis, golf, and just laying back with friends abound. Anyone who has been to an ADMSEP Meeting knows that the goal is to bring ourselves up to date in beautiful surroundings where we can commingle, commiserate and conspire. This year will be no exception.
